Radar Approaches for Sequential Human Activity Classification

IEEE MTT-S SBC DU is going to arrange a seminar on “Radar Approaches for Sequential Human Activity Classification“. It will be a great opportunity for the engineers and researchers who are interested in Radar Technology and its future directions. Our guest speaker is an expert in this field and has years of research experience under his belt, which makes his knowledge and insights invaluable to the audience.

Speaker: Dr. Francesco Fioranelli
Dr. Francesco Fioranelli graduated in Telecom Engineering (summa cum laude) at the Università Politecnica delle Marche, Ancona, Italy, for his Bachelor (2007) and Master (2010). He received his PhD on through-wall radar imaging at Durham University, UK in January 2014 under the supervision of Prof Sana Salous with funding from the UK HMGCC, and then worked as a Research Associate on multistatic radar with Prof Hugh Griffiths at University College London between February 2014 and March 2016.He joined TU Delft in November 2019 as a TT Assistant Professor, in the MS3 (Microwave Sensing Signals & Systems) section led by Prof Alexander Yarovoy within the Department of Microelectronics. He obtained his tenure in November 2021 and was promoted to Associate Professor in February 2023.

Moderator: Dr. Shekh Md Mahmudul Islam, Senior member,IEEE
Dr. Shekh Md Mahmudul Islam received the B.Sc (Hons.) and M.Sc degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He also received a PhD degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Hawaii, USA, with a focus on biomedical applications incorporating RF/ Microwave Technologies in December 2020. He is currently working as an Associate Professor in the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, University of Dhaka.
